John,
Thanks for your help in setting up our wireless system. All is working fine
and we're already reaping the benefits of not being tethered to the modem.
In addition, your advice regarding our older laptop to add memory in order
to fix the slow response time was right on the mark.
Web surfing can now be done in a timely fashion!!
Thanks again, take care.

I'm sure that Harden didn't want to lose you. He's been so happy
with the job that you'd been doing for him.
You've been doing such a great job and I have had numerous positive
comments about your work. Thanks for all you've done.
As you know neither Harden nor I are ready or capable of doing the job.
Thanks again.

Thanks.

You really be deh man! Emily's rocket is working fine. And, yes, when
dealing with graphics files, as she must for her current project, it does
markedly increase productivity.
I'm thrilled to have my LaserJet II feed paper again. I really admired
the way you took it apart and installed the new part with no muss, no fuss.
Yes, I know that if you do something often enough, you can make it look
easy. But I'll tell you, it was great to have the repair done in the field.
Which leads me to suggest that that there are lots more people out there
who would gladly pay to avoid the hassle of taking something into the shop
or visiting a computer store. They just aren't aware that you exist. And
home offices--real home offices--are proliferatng. No one wants the hassle
of dealing by phone with Dell or Gateway, good as those organizations may
be. They would gladly pay you to get up and running again fast, without
ever having to leave home.
For, you make house calls!

How can I get greater performance from my current system,
so I won't have to buy a new one?
What about tuning my system's memory?
What about my hard disk?
There are so many options. I'm confused.
Can you straighten things out?
If you're computer savvy (and current in your knowledge) or if you have
a really good computer service person, you might consider replacing your
current motherboard. This is the cheapest way to give yourself a
"new computer", but you really need to know what you're doing.
But we all must be aware of the costs and benefits of the "package deals"
offered by mail-order and other firms. Some of these deals are so
good...
Since 1985, Mr. Mosier
has operated a regional (PA, NJ, DE) computer maintenance and support business,
providing a variety of computer products and services. These include
custom-configured systems, system upgrades, system maintenance and repairs.
In keeping with technological demands, Mr. Mosier's business has also expanded
to incorporate Internet Web site design, publication, and support services
in a global environment.

Yes! The new toy is on line and running
smoothly. That is if the girls would ever give us a chance to fool
around with it. We really appreciate your help in getting the whole
mess straightened out as quickly as you did.
Again, many thanks!
Computer Sourcebook

as excerpted from page 127...
We stand by the statement that you should buy the most powerful system
you can afford... What we mean by that word (afford) is basically:
Don't skimp. Don't sell the farm to buy a computer, but don't be
a tightwad either.
We could have saved $120 and gone with a 100 Mhz Pentium. But
we took the advice of a longtime friend and professional technician who
said, "Go with the 133 (Mhz) - you'll really notice the difference."
Free plug:
The person we bought from is John Mosier. He's been in business nearly
20 years and has been know to build and ship systems all over the world
in 24 hours.

First, the march of technology is relentless.
Let's start with the CPU...
Next, check your BIOS settings.
Don't waste time on this step if you don't have at least 8MB of RAM
installed.
As for memory management software, if you run only Windows95 or NT
and only 32-bit applications, you don't need it.
The hard disk is quite literally where you "live" on your computer.
First, use the DEFRAG program supplied with DOS 6.x, Windows 3.1x and
Windows95.
The second thing you can do is to make sure you are using a disk-caching
program.
It's impossible to offer generalities, but basically, if you want to
hold on to your current system, the best thing to do is to try the free
optimizing fixes suggested above (and buy the book).

THANK YOU !!!
Thank you so much for donating the cost of your labor to check out our ancient computer and printer. Everything seemed to die at the same time.
We are in the market for used computers and printers. If any of your customers have equipment that they would like to sell at a reasonable (dirt cheap) price, or would like to donate toward the restoration of the village, please let me know.
Thank you again for all your help, both now and in the past.
Note - We understand the needs and difficulties of non-profit organizations. As a result, we frequently discount our fees, or donate them outright.

Many times good service goes uncomplimented and unrewarded because our
busy schedules dictate remembering mostly problems. However, I do
want to take the time to thank you (and staff) for the courtesies extended
to our organization.
I know at times I felt as though I was being a pain in calling to ask
questions concerning our system, however, you and your staff were professional
and courteous without question in helping us through our learning curve.
Again, thank you for your help.
